ABOUT ME
Welcome and thank you for visiting my website!
I am a licensed psychologist in Oregon, Maryland, and Washington, DC.
I hold a B.A. in psychology and philosophy from Brooklyn College and a Doctor of Psychology degree (Psy.D.) from The George Washington University.
I am also a clinical supervisor at The George Washington University PsyD Program and member of APA Divisions 39 (Psychoanalysis), 32 (Humanistic Psychology), and 29 (Advancement of Psychotherapy).
I have broad interests in psychoanalysis, existentialism, and moral philosophy. My areas of recent research include responsibility, meaning in life, and the relationship between Jewish thought and psychoanalysis. My doctoral paper, which has been published by The Humanistic Psychologist, focused on responsibility and the intersection of psychoanalytic and existential theories.
SERVICES
I offer individual and couples therapy. I invite you to schedule a free video or phone consultation if you feel that we would be a good fit or are curious to learn more about my therapeutic approach and services.
HOW I WORK
I aim to help you think about and overcome the unique challenges in your life. I work collaboratively in goal setting, problem solving, and uncovering the factors that drive your distressing feelings, thoughts, and/or behaviors.
In sessions, I value explorations of your personal history, experiences with primary caregivers, and relational patterns, in addition to concerns you might have about death, meaning, and personal responsibility. At the same time, however, I believe that flexibility in approach and conversation—tailored to your needs—is essential for a successful treatment.
I am warm, validating, and guided by a deep-seated respect and appreciation for all individuals (LGBTQIA+ friendly and affirming). I consider you the expert on your experiences and the predicaments in which you find yourself.
